Yanks Can't Hit, Thus They Lose
The horse's head is dead, and, today Shawn Kelley pitched like a horse's ass. That said, if the Yanks didn't stink on offense, maybe they could score more than two runs. And today, like last night, they scored all of their runs in the third. Kuroda was good and didn't deserve to lose when giving up only 2 runs. Betances pitched a scoreless 8th, and Kelley was in for the 9th. I don't know Girardi goes from his A+ reliever in the 8th to a B-/C+ in the 9th. I don't know why he does a lot of things, frankly, but I'm tired of all of them.
UPDATE: They released Corban Joseph today, so that opens a spot on the 40.

The issue was the hitting. Like you noted in your post.
Kelley did not pitch well, but that is not why they lost.
Stuck at the margins of contention because of the payroll until or unless that stops being the goal.
There was always a way to get Refs on the roster.
But Young will get it because of his veteran-ness.
They'll claim it's because of Gardy's ankle.
MBN, Girardi had control over who pitched and we lost without our best available in there, that's why I brought it up. Yes, we should have scored more, but he screwed up in a situation he could control.
Phil;
Understood. But that was not the main reason they lost the game.
BTW - if they can't rely on Kelley and/or Warren, they are dead on arrival, even with Robertson/Betances. Those guys are all overworked, and the Yankees need a full compliment of reliable guys to contend this year, especially the way the offense is (not) hitting.
It's about relying on them in innings other than the last, which they can do most of the time. But you don't use either of them in a tie road game in the ninth. Too much leverage.
