Yankees Stuff
Interesting tidbits around the Universe this morning. First, San Diege wants to interview Billy Eppler for their GM post. I have no idea if the Yanks will give permission in season, but that could inure to our benefit. I remember back in the `90s. the Yanks tried unsuccessfully to get compensation for San Fran poaching Brian Sabean between seasons, I think in-season, the Yanks would have a better chance at compensation.
Second, and this is really annoying, over the past 48 hours, the Yanks have been associated with David Price because they supposedly had "extra" scouts at his last start. It's unlikely that the Rays would trade Price in division. It's also unlikely that even if they were willing to do that, they would settle for anything less that didn't include Severino, Clarkin and Judge, in other words -- a huge chunk would be taken from the Yankees fairly near future.
Finally, the aforementioned Luis Severinon is pitching for the Tampa Yankees right now. And he's retired the first 9 batters...

I would pay them to take Eppler and Cashman.
And wouldn't it be perfectly consistent for them to backup the prospect truck for Price?
I have to believe that Hal/Levine aren't pitching-centric.
They have been sold (bamboozled really) by their GM.
Fortunately, other teams have more ML ready assets.
Remember when NYYFans used to be called Bronx-Bombers and Jim F. got a cease and desist letter?
It's hard to believe they have the standing to enforce that trademark now. ;)
Ha ha.
