The Yanks Will Not Trade IFA Slots This Year

Last week, an idea started floating around about the Yankee sites, that the Yanks, who are planning on bringing in a ton of IFA's in 8 days, should then go ahead and trade their IFA pool slots for prospects or as parts of other deals.  I checked.  They're not doing that.   I think it's because they are going to use those up all those pool slots to offset their fines.  In other words, they will only plan on being fined for dollars spent beyond their they pool number, and not for the whole thing.

Also, just as the Yanks aren't the first team to do what they'll do in 8 days, they won't be the first to trade their pool space, or even trade for more pool space of a further offset.   Just like they weren't the first to trade for those traceable draft picks.   The Yanks seem more comfortable following these days.
