Knicks Win!
The Knicks gave the "Toastmaster" a taste of MSG fun and what is probably in his future as they energetically dismantled New Orleans tonight at home. Melo was once again impressive, playing through obvious elbow pain, he threw himself around like Derek Jeter going after loose balls and making plays all over the place before sitting out the 4th quarter. Amar'e was also terrific and will keep upping his game as the new chemistry sets in.
What was most interesting about tonight was the way that Toney Douglas stepped up for the injured Chauncey Billups. He played with energy and scored in a variety of ways. He made some bad decisions, but a lot more good plays. He may indeed be a keeper (or a very valuable trade chip). When he goes off, he is somewhat reminiscent of Nate, though he is a much more intense defender.
Landry Fields continued to miss shots he usually makes, but his effort was there on the boards and on D. It will all come together soon. Shawne Williams bounced back from a long draught and looked really impressive. Carter made some plays when he was in, and Jared Jefferies tried to lead the D on his return.

It was a very nice game by the whole team, and the energy in the Garden had to have Chris Paul dreaming of what could happen in the not so distant future. Go Knicks!

I don't think a PG is their biggest need, with or without Billups.
Howard's going to the Lakers if that's what you are thinking about.
How many top years does Kobe have left? He needs to rethink.
He wants to be in movies. He'll go the the Lakers or the Clippers.
NYC provides a platform for that.
If it provided much of one, I'd still be living there.
Irrespective of your ample talent (seriously), you don't have his visibility or the promise of a stage like MSG.
Either way, I am very wary about diminutive PG.
He's a great player. Anyway, I'm developing a leverage theory about basketball, and having three really good players, whatever their positions, makes it both easier for the other two on the court, and for the organization to find/develop a fourth.
What we need now is a 5 or a rotation of 5's who can rebound, play d, and launch really good outlet passes. Being able to handle some putbacks and dunks on the break would be a plus.

Also, Brewer will sign a multi-year deal with Dallas.
If he will come to New York, they need to know about it, and not the way they knew about LeBron. I'm hoping we get lucky wit a big in this draft and then don't need to max another front liner.
Sheridan on Douglas, Paul, and some interesting stats when the Knicks win.
Good stuff
