Whither Liriano?
After months of hearing "Liriano to the Yankees" whispers, things seem to be heating up. Several of the reporters down at Spring Training seem to think a trade might be made between the Twins and the Yanks to stabilize the Yankee rotation. It's an interesting possibility. When healthy, Francisco Liriano has been great at times. Problem is, he's been hurt a lot, therefore, the Yanks really have to drive a hard bargain. Remembering that Brian Cashman wouldn't give Hughes or Joba for a healthier Santana four years ago should calm nerves that Montero, Betances, Banuelos, Sanchez and Brackman aren't going anywhere. But can the Yanks get something done around Nova and secondary pieces? We will see. Go Yanks!

I want to be wrong, but I think I will believe that they are morons if they make this trade.
Trade from a position of wealth, with players like David Adams, Brandon Laird, Austin Romine, Adam Warren, Ivan Nova, etc. No A prospects. He's a good pitcher, but injured often.
I'd rather save Romine for a more durable pitcher.
With any luck we won't have the need to trade for anymore pitchers for a long time.
I don't think they need Liriano either.
They're fine for now. Let the season play out and if there's a problem, reassess.
I'm with you on not wanting to deplete the farm at all. I think we're a half a season away from identifying more Yankees and inflating further the trade value of the trade chips.
Read a report the Twins want Banuelos as part of any deal. I pray the Yankees are not stupid enough...
I would call them idiots until I die.
They obviously wouldn't do that.

“We have kids that I wouldn’t trade for anyone."
Sweet.
I really hope so Phil, but the whole Montero-for-Lee thing has me doubting the front office in a big way right now.
Rest assured that Banuelos won't be available unless it was for King Felix.
Remember, Montero was off to a bad start when that trade was cooked up last June. Thereafter, he hit .351 and homered once every 12 ab's. He's off the table. And was only ever on for Halladay and Lee. They probably - and I think wrongly - value elite pitchers over elite catchers in the organization at the moment. Meaning Betances and Banuelos are safe. They wouldn't trade any of the three for Grienke. Why does anyone think they'd trade any of them for a far more fragile fellow?

Form doe follow feeling. So feeling bad and having bad mechanics are not only not mutually exclusive, but they guarantee each other.
Here is a good interview with Mark newman about our youth.
