Whither Richards?

Rumors are running hot and heavy that the reason Glenn Sather cancelled his Bryan McCabe trade conference call is that he's working out a contract extension with Brad Richards. Richards would then come to the Rangers in a deal that's rumored to include Boyle, Artem Anisimov and Gilroy. Anisimov would be the one who is hard to part with, a la Gallinari in the Melo deal. The Ranges; however would be getting a playmaking C, who, could facilitate things for Gabrik and others going forward. He might also be the kind of guy who helps the young C's we have coming up, like Stepan and Hagelin. Of course, it could be something else entirely that is taking up Sather's time. We'll see.
