Knicks Claim Derrick Brown

The have apparently been rewarded PF Derrick Brown on waivers from Charlotte. At 6'9", Brown is a long lean defender who shot the 3-ball well at Xavier. He was not getting heavy minutes in Charlotte, but does take the long-lean project role previously held by Randolph and Brewer. Jared Jeffries is still expected to sign later today and is already with the team in Orlando. Go Knicks.

UPDATE: Apparently, Charlotte tried to sneak him through waivers after their 3 for 1 trade last week, but the Knicks grabbed him, instead. Raymond Felton was a big fan.

Murphy leaning there as well? The good thing about getting Melo is now we are an attractive place to play. Not sure how much we will do this summer, but 2012 should really put us in a position to contend for years to come!

BTW Dolan better extend Donnie and get it over-with already

I don't think you'll hear anything about Walsh's contract until after the season.

IMO it's a no brainer they should get it done. Yesterday on Mac/Tierney he avoided all talks of it..

Rich/Phil either you a fan of Powe?

Dolan isn't there because of his brain.

TBH, I don't know enough about Powe.

As with any marginal player, you have to know that D'Antoni won't bury him before you consider him.

Phil on a Giants note, happy we re-upped DJ Ware, you think we have interest in Hawk now that Green Bay cut him?

Hawk is signing a new deal with the Pack, probably today.
