Cash Flying to Arkansas

Brian Cashman is apparently on his way to Arkansas to meet with Cliff Lee. The reports claim that no offer will be made, but Cash knows when to swoop and if Lee wants to be a Yankee, there's no reason why something can't be put together quickly. Cash is a closer. Never forget that. Go Yanks!

So what do you think of Cashman contacting Crawford's agent?

Is there a trade to move Swisher to free up salary?

Who would play RF if Swisher was traded? Doubt he goes anywhere unless the plan is to sign Werth.

Werth is not that much of an upgrade over Swisher.

Pass...

I think Werth would be a decent upgrade, but not when you factor in the contract.

Now if you didn't have to give Jeter a stupid contract...

Yanks interested in De La Rosa?

Nooooooooo

OT: OK I followed the Knicks a little...D'Antoni sucks for this group. Walsh's health probably has impacted his energy to fully assess talent, like George Young in the '90s.

Start by firing D'Antoni.

Gardner, Brackman and 2 Melancon type players for Sizemore?

This according to MLB radio is in the works.

could be interesting. I guess he would be LF?

He can't stay healthy. Pass.

No to trading two valuable commodities for an oft-injured outfielder.

No thanks on that deal.

Phil, why aren't the Yankees going for a proven commodity like Leo Mazzone for pitching coach?

USA Today:

Bob Nightengale of USAToday:

"GMs say the biggest names already under discussion include former Cy Young winner Zack Greinke of Kansas City; All-Star first basemen Adrian Gonzalez of San Diego and Prince Fielder of Milwaukee; outfield brothers Justin Upton of Arizona and B.J. Upton of Tampa Bay; All-Star right fielder Nick Swisher of the New York Yankees; All-Star closers Bobby Jenks of the Chicago White Sox and Jonathan Papelbon of Boston; and infielders Dan Uggla of Florida; Jason Bartlett of Tampa Bay and Mark Reynolds of Arizona."

Justin Upton would be a nice add if he is on the market!

Mazzone showed interest, but the Yanks haven't voiced any interest in him.

At 11:08 AM, Blogger Michael said...

Cash said in the paper today that he felt used by Mazzone last time and would not be calling him..

Swish on the block is no surprise, and I would not be surprised to see him moved

I wouldn't pay would it would likely take to get Upton.

I want Patterson to be the PC.

At 4:28 PM, Blogger Michael said...

Rich I agree with you, we need someone outside the organization. Big PASS on Harkey...

Davidoff says Yanks have expressed interest in Feliciano

Joba, Romine and Nova for Upton?

Who hangs up 1st?

At 5:43 AM, Blogger Rich said...

Until they're sure that Montero can stick at C, I don't see how they can trade Romine.

you guys a fan of the Rotschild hiring?

Larry Rothschild teams seem to always lead the league in strikeouts. I have always felt that AJ, Joba, and Hughes were excellent at getting the first two strikes, because they have good stuff, but none ever had an out pitch to finish guys off. Perhaps Larry can help them find the method or pitch so that they don't throw the meatball so often.

Glad its an experienced guy like Rothchild instead of bringing in Aldred or giving it to Harkey.

I hadn't thought of him, but he seems like a good hire. I did like Aldred, but Rothschild has the pelts.
