Eiland Out

Apparently, Dave Eiland has lost his job as Yankee PC. Hopefully, Scott Aldred will be promoted to the position. He has been the best PC in the organization for the past few years, and I'd like to see him get the shot, unless Dave Duncan or some other well credentialed coach is available. Go Yanks!

As I said in the thread below, I wonder how much is related to that personal issue that caused him to miss time, versus it being performance-based.

Dave Duncan is headed back to St. Louis.

Rick Peterson has one year left with the Brewers and lives in NJ.

Leo Mazzone?

Francesa is pumping the idea of A-Rod to DH and Jeter at 3B. What evidence is there that Jeter would be as good as A-Rod at 3B? I see none, so I think it's moronic.

A-Rod needs to go to DH in 2012, after Posada is gone. Jeter, sadly, doesn't have a spot other than SS.

What evidence is there that Jeter is a better fielder than A-Rod at any infield position?

Montero may have to DH, and they shouldn't clog it up because of a declining Jeter.

It's already going to be clogged with a declining A-Rod that has a bad hip.

I want to see another year of A-Rod's hip being a problem before I reach that conclusion. The contract is stupid that there will come a point when he can't play 3B, but I see Jeter's defense and decline as a far more pressing problem.
