Yanks Win a Dramatic One

Wow. On a night when they paid tribute to both Bob Sheppard and George Steinbrenner, it was Nick Swisher who came up with the big hits to put Tampa 3 games back. Swish homered to tie it in the 8th, then with two outs in the 9th, he singled home Curtis Granderson for the win. CC was not sharp, and Cano and Posada had homered to tie it earlier, before CC gave up an uncharacteristic 4th run. Huge win. AJ goes on Old Timers Day. Go Yanks!

Swisher is becoming one of Cash's great trades.

Robertson should be the 8th inning guy until he shows he can't handle it.

The one negative note: Jeter is really worrying me.

I'm worried about the negotiations this offseason. This should be used as a way to make him take a significant paycut. I pray things don't get ugly...

I don't care about AAV, I only care about the number of years, because that almost always impacts PT and other acquisitions.

Despite Francesa continually maintaining that he has been told that Jeter will get whatever he wants, I have to think if that was the case that they would have given him a stupid contract after last season.

I think they waited for a reason.

Not that I don't think that he may get vastly overpaid, but it shouldn't be ridiculous if this "slump" proves to be more than that.
