Rest in Peace, Boss

There are rumors going around that George M. Steinbrenner III, Williams College `52, has been taken to the hospital. Obviously, the hope here it's a short stay and that he's back home with his family as soon as possible. God bless you, Boss.

UPDATE: Apparently he has had a heart attack. My prayers are with the Boss and his family as they get through this.

UPDATE: Apparently, the greatest owner in sports has passed away. This is just a very sad day for the entire Yankee family, and I believe, the country. I used to run into George when he was coming out of a Manhattan restaurant called Nicola's. We'd always chat about the Yankees. When I got into Williams, he gave me a big "atta boy!" He was always great to me, and I was happy when the fans got to see that side of him when we started winnings titles again. God bless you, Boss!

George’s tenure as the owner of the Yankees can be summed up in one Dickensian sentence:

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”

But the good defintely outweighed the bad.

RIP

I sincerely hope hal follows his father's legacy. It will be a dark day should the family decide to sell to a corporate entity.

OT, I read somewhere that Buster Olney said A-Rod has had problems with his hip off and on this year. If that's the case, we need to speed up the process of finding his replacement at 3B and DH him.

Given the way he has played lately, I suspect that the info is stale.

Lately? His last seven days: .158/.292/.158/.450

Then I'm wrong.

Maybe he is hurt. Maybe he does need more surgery. Most doctors make mistakes, even Phillipon.

Ken Rosenthal via Twitter: "Two players #Yankees would love to have: Dunn, Soria. #Nationals' price on Dunn exorbitant. #Royals would need to be overwhelmed. #MLB"

Can we include Joba in a potential Soria deal please?

Trading Joba now is like dumping a beaten down stock when you don't need the money and it still has growth potential.

Miranda up? Who was sent down?

Joba has no growth potential with this organization -- they have proven they have no clue with him. Time for both parties to move on.

Then someone in the organization should lose their job.

No arguments here, Rich.

You don't get many guys with that kind of talent, especially where they draft, and they've turned him into to Kyle Farnsworth.

btw, Russo was sent down.

I pray they've learned their lesson, so the same doesn't happen to Brackman and Betances. No more starter-reliever crap.
