Brett Gardner is a Yankee

Forget about Carl Crawford. The Yanks have their speed and OBP guy going forward. The Yanks scored 11 runs in the 3rd inning of today's win, and Gardy was both the sparkplug and the hammer. He lead off the big inning with a line drive single, then hit a grandslam in his second AB of the inning. Later he walked. He plays great D, too. He keeps improving, and we don't need to replace him. Big win for the Yanks. Either Hughes or Javy goes tomorrow. Go Yanks!

Phil, slightly OT, but I remember you mentioning the Yankees being interested in a shortstop from Asia (either Taiwan or Korea?) that was highly thought of in this year's IFA class. Whatever happened to him?

I don't know, he's from Taiwan but maybe MLB hasn't cleared him yet. They have convoluted the whole IFA process.

Gardner has exceeded my expectations, and they were pretty high.

I hope they don't get fooled by Park pitching better with a huge lead. He's just like Hawkins. He would pitch better somewhere else.
