Rangers Hire a New Enforcer

Just a few minutes after losing their reigning enforcer Jody Shelley to a suprising three year deal to the Flyers, the Rangers signed Derek Boogaard to be their new enforcer. He's a baaaad man but may not be the clubhouse leader Jody was. That leadership has to be replaced. Go Rangers!

UPDATE: The Rangers gave him 4 years, 6.6M. That probably represents a pretty significant overpay. Now hire some people for him to protect!

UPDATE: Apparently the Boogaard deal is just front loaded. The 6.6M is an extrapolation of the first year amount. The real deal is 3.6M which is fine.

What did the Flyers give Shelley? That sounds like a dumb move overall.

I hope the Knicks are smarter.

They got worse. I don't view it as fine.

Shelley got 3.3 for 3 years.

Let's see what else the Rangers do.
