9500 Wins!

CC Sabathia pitched 8 brilliant shutout innings today to accomplish several things. First, he put the Yanks in first as Tampa lost again. Second, he gave the Yanks the best record in baseball. And third, he gave them 9500 regular season wins. That is by far the record in baseball (New York/SF Giants are second with just over 9000), and a tribute to the continued excellence they have strived for, aside from the CBS years, since Ruppert and Huston bought the team in 1915. Oh, and Mark Teixeira provided all the runs needed for victory with a 4th inning Grandslam. This is the second day in a row when all the scoring has been done by the 4th. Anyway, we big West Coast swing coming up, and we still aren't firing on all cylinders, but CC has won 4 in a row. AJ goes tomorrow in AZ. Go Yanks!
