Skipped
The Yanks have decided to skip struggling Javy Vazquez's next star, whick would have taken place in Boston. And yes, the Yanks will be making their second appearance in Boston before playing them at all in New York. Putting the anual attempt at setting the Yanks back early aside, why have the Yankees been unable to fix Javy's mechanics thus far? Have they not done the tape work? Or do they havethe wrong guy at PC? Seriously, why have we seen longterm mechanical inconsistencies with guys like Javy and AJ? Aren't pitching coaches supposed to fix those? What's going on? Go Yanks! If Eiland can't do it, promote Aldred!

As I have said ad nauseum, I have never been high on Eiland.
It's far too early to reach any definitive conclusion on this offseason's examples, but the Yankees may be better at developing prospects than they are at making trades.
Personally, my biggest problem in regards to pitchers is the Yankees' complete ineptitude in fixing Joba. But I blame that on the organization as a whole, and not Eiland specifically.
The most stunning thing about Joba was when Kay asked Cash if he thought his velo would come back and he said no, otherwise we would have seen it by now.
I would think that there would be an indentifiable medical reason for that, but maybe not.
I think that CB person at LoHud once said that Joba didn't throw in the high 90s in college, and that the Yankees changed his mechanics, which upped his velo. Is that true?
I know he threw that hard in the high minors.
If that's the case, then they should change his mechanics back to what they were in the upper minors. Here's a kid who had the potential to be Justin Verlander. It'd be a shame to not try and get that Joba back.
the same criticisms you made years back regarding stottlemyre. time to change the blue solar water.
