Is the Jokinen on Us?

Now the rumors are saying Kotalik and Higgins have been traded for Olli Jokenin. If true, they could be getting a good player. He's a free agent at the end of the year so it's not a bad deal, and at times he's been a very good player. Maybe the change of scenery and the prospect of needing a new deal will inspire him. Funny thing is, I always thought he's be a Ranger at some point. Let's see if it's true!

Update: a few sources are now saying it's Jokinen and Brandon Prust for Kotalik and Higgins. Prust fights a lot.

It's really hard to root for this team because I think they are rudderless, and always will be under Sather.

Yeah, but they've had some good drafts, so there is some brain somewhere in the org setting up a good future.

I might feel differently if/when Rozsival and Redden are gone.

Sather could be gone before too much longer. Messier's definitely being groomed.

Zipay:

It could be announced today, although the Flames may be asking for more.

Still on hold. Kovalchuk now said to be on the block. Let's get him.

Kovalchuk is the Boyle of a few years ago, Sather wants him but will he pay the price for him. On Boyle he was only willing to go so far...

Kotalik has a limited no trade clause?

yeah, there were three teams on it. But that's not the problem right now. Flames are holding out for Callahan, so they can trade him for Kovalchuk and we won't give him up.

Of course, we should trade him and others for Kovalchuk.

Now Voros isn't on the plane to LA. He's either going to Calgary to replace some toughness, or the Rangers have more than one deal cooking.
