Chris Palmer Retires

Giants QB Coach Chris Palmer retired today. Coach Palmer was very close with both Eli and David Carr (whom he had coached with the Texans). Not only was Palmer close with Eli, but Eli's comp% kept going up as Palmer coached him, so he was effective, too. Replacing him will be tricky. I wish they would call Jim Fassel, but I have no idea whether or not he would take it. Go Giants!

Too bad Couglin and Gilbride didn't retire.

Good thought about Fassel.

After reading various blogs about Fewell's comments yesterday, it sounds like I gave him too much credit, but I hate that the assistant coaches were probably forced on him.

Fewell's a great fit. For whatever reasons, our defense craves emotional leadership. Spags was that way, Sheridan was not. Fewell's an outstanding teacher, but also emotional. I think it will work out.
