Fewell It Is!

The Giants have finally confirmed what those who were doing the math all along have suspected. Perry Fewell is the new Giant defensive coordinator. Coach Fewell has a reputation for being a great teacher, a creative gameplanner and play caller, a fiery type and a Coach who gets his players to overachieve. Sounds like just what we need and he is. He is much more like Spags than Sheridan was and that's an important issue. The defense just did not respond to a more reserved DC. Fewell will teach them and get after them, and that seems like what our players crave. The fun part will come as he fills out the staff. Oh, and though he has run the Tampa 2 the past few years, he hasn't only run it and it's not the only thing he runs. He has had great success in coaching up DB's so no matter what zone we use, perhaps they'll finally know how to execute it. Go Giants!

finally!!! I would suspect all of the staff will be toast now. I see no way how Hermann and Giunta survive.

I bet David Merritt stays because he told them before the season that they didn't have what they needed at safety. But I bet he's the only one.

That would sound logical, losing KP was a big blow. Regardless we talent and lots of it on the D. Pat just re-tweeted that Perry could take the Bills job if offered? I tend to doubt that though... When should we expect the house cleaning to continue?

We need Tuck to get and remain healthy, and to straighten the DT situation. I also hope AP is waived, because he's done.

I think AP is a free-agent..

I found this from Vacchiano in August 2008:

Pierce has three years and $13.1 million left on the six-year, $26 million contract he signed in 2005...

my bad Rich, for some reason I thought he was done after this year contractually, regardless I think he has played his last game as a Giant.

Pierce won't be back.

We need Reese to get Perry some more help in FA and the draft. DT, LB, and Safety with good coaching and our defense will be cooking. Obviously, the status of the CBA may deter us in FA.

It won't deter the Skins. The Giants need to spend big.
