Haslett On the Way

Definitive retread, Jim Haslett will be coming in to interview with the Giants are their vacant DC spot. Haslett made a name for himself coordinating the Pittsburgh 3-4 years ago, then went on to be a head coach with the Saints and the Rams. He was a former NFL coach of the year, but recently found himself squaring off agains Jim Fassel's Vegas team for the championship of the new league. Haslett lost. He's friend's with Tom Coughlin and we'll see what happens tomorrow. No news on the Fewell front so far today.

UPDATE: He's not coming! He's been named DC for the Redskins. Bahahahahahahaha!

If Haslett is hired, it would demonstrate that John Mara's outrage following the season was merely a palliative designed to assuage the fans' frustration, but when the rubber meets the road, money is more important to him than winning.

How can you acknowledge that players quit on the coach (on both sides of the ball), yet the answer is to scapegoat Sheridan. That doesn't mean that he shouldn't have been replaced; only that the problem is far, far deeper.

Still waiting for confirmation, but it sure sounds like it.

It sounds like the report may have been premature.

yeah, the Giants like to make their own announcements and probably upbraided Fewell's agent or whoever leaked it.

They also like to create scenarios where things look like they won't get done, only to reveal they have miraculously gotten done.

Their stories all have the same arc.

Phil do you believe LaCanfora? I tend to think he and Schefter both would not get this wrong?

I think Fewell is getting it as I've indicated all along, we just need the the Giants confirmation before we discuss it any further.
