Let's Get Patrick Corbin
I've had this picture in my Yankee folder for over a year. The Yanks are going after another starter, and since they already moved Sheffield, any other trade for a top starter would start with Florial and add two or three more pieces. So let's not. The choice seems to be between Corbin, Happ and Eovaldi. Happ is older and could hit his expiration date any year now. And Eovaldi has already had 2 TJS surgeries. Corbin will turn 30 in July, and has the classic lefty mechanics that Ford had and Tommy John had after his surgery. Those guy's last. Paxton turned 30 a few weeks ago so will be 30 all of next season. Also, Corbin has been on the upswing and reportedly wants to be a Yankee. Let's hope they can find the right deal.

I would go with Eovaldi because he seems likely to be cheaper, especially in number of years, although probably more boom-bust,, but if they are truly going to upgrade the rotation it can’t be Happ. So the Corbin is also acceptable, although contract length could be a concern.
Now if they hadn’t signed CC, Happ would’ve been OK on a short term deal to fill that role, but they did so I don’t want him.
I would have prefered Happ to CC, too, then gone for Corbin or another target. Not an Eovaldi guy, because we still have the same PC who couldn't get him fixed the first time.
Btw, Yanks so far have added Joe Harvey to their 40 and have another open spot - I think.
Another spot will soon open when Gray is traded, assuming it's prospects and not major-league talent.
Corbin and Kikuchi when he's posted. Then Miller on an incentive-laden deal.
Sign him already so Happ isn’t an option.
