Giants Take a 5th for Snacks

The Giants just moved their immovable run stopper.  He's one dimensional and only plays a little over 50% of the defensive downs.  He's also still owed a bunch of money, so I can understand the Giants only getting what should be a pretty high 5th from the Lions. One of the things we were seeing with Snacks was QB's checking out of run plays when he was in. I'd heard that RJ McIntosh had been practicing a bit, so I wonder if he's close to being activated. He's a 3-4 DE, not a nose, but he's talented an could help the rotation.

No shit.

Gut feeling, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Giants have a few more moves left they're looking to make. -- @Patricia_Traina

The positive about Gettleman to date has been his one draft class. So more picks can help.

The negative has been the free agent signings and the head coach, but the owner forcing Eli on caused bad OL decisions and having the QB situation be a mess may have pushed away coaches with more choices.

Salvage it by making Bettcher head coach.

That would restore my confidence.

NY Post: Last week Mara said, “I’m very confident we have the right guys in the building to turn this around.”

Paraphrasing this pathetic owner when he was asked a few years ago if McAdoo was the coach in waiting: “I have to laugh when I hear the [owner] say that.”

The only good decision he has made in his life was picking the right grandfather.

You gotta play the game. The NFL would fine him if he gave any more realistic statement. Think of Vegas.

You are right about that, and if it the only questionable thing that has arisen I would have overlooked it, but there are so many shortcomings with this guy: game management, clock management, saying ridiculous things to the media that I think he is irredeemable while Bettcher has produced more with less. Going into the season the prevailing thought was that the offense would have to carry the defense. The opposite has been the case. They should cut their losses and keep the rising star while jettisoning the thin-skinned guy who has coordinator as a ceiling written all over him.
