Yanks Stuff

The non-waiver trade deadline has come and gone and all the high upside prospects are still in the fold.  What's more as much energy was spent adding the maximum allowable IFA money back into the till for the latest class of high upside kids.  They also got two guys who've been poison to the Red Sox and a top tier reliever to extend bullpen coverage by another inning. The targets just weren't there that could justify moving the senior top prospects (though the younger ones have greater ceilings and it was affordable if the right names became available).

Now, Happ has a mild case of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, which he must have gotten from a midieval baseball Annie or something.  Anyway, he'll mist his scheduled Sox start, but presumably , Lance Lynn, who also owns the Sox, can take it.

We'll see if anything happens during the waiver period, but the most exciting things will be getting Judge and Sanchez back and adding another bunch of top tier IFA's.

UPDATE: Anthony Seigler got promoted to Pulaski and is one for one so far tonight!

It’s interesting thar Curry said the Cashman admitted he overpaid for Happ, but they needed him, in his pov.

I remember his saying that, but I didn't view it as such. Drury and Billy had no positions they could win.

Scoring runs while runners are in scoring position is nice to see.

Agreed both Drury and McKinney were blocked.

No big loss.

Andujar is not super highly valued by all the sabr types, but their baseball view can be way too narrow.

The loss is opportunity costs. Time will tell if it’s a big loss.

I think AJ Cole is part of the reason the Yankees viewed Warren as expendable.

And he gives up a two run double in his second inning of work... Don't know why he had to go 2 after the off day. Bullpen management is an issue.

I don't think it's a loss, they Yanks have a bunch of mulit positional IF's who are defensive marvels compared to Drury and both IF's and OF's that are better and years younger than the pair.

Tanka has raised his floor.

The point is they could’ve traded Drury for something else and that’s probably what Cashman was referring to.
