Yanks Trade Headley and Mitchell for Jabari Blash
The Yanks just created some salary and prospect space by trading Chase Headley and Bryan Mitchell to the Padres for Jabari Blash who at 6'5" is the Yankees third tallest right fielder. Blash is 28 or will turn 28 this year. He'll probably be used in another trade or released. Nevertheless, I love getting rid of Headley, though he was a good guy and a good Yankee. Abreu time!

Either they are going to sign Cobb or making a trade for a pitcher.
Padres absorbing all of the contract.
Yanks have 33M to play with now.
I assume Todd Frazier is returning or does Andujar get a chance?
I really don’t want Todd, especially for more than a year.
This would be a much tougher model to follow to move Ellsbury, but they have to tell him he’s never going to play so if a deal is offered, agree to it.
I like bringing in Todd for 1 year, if he's open to it.
Mitchell was out of options, so either he had to make 25 man roster or go on waivers. Odds are good it would have been the latter and have been lost for nothing.
Also #Yankees just opened 1 40-man roster spot and probably 2 at some point because Blash is probably not long for 40-man
Another issue with Todd is that they are already too RH.

Shermans proposed price for Fullmer is way too much to give up.
If they can build a deal for a starter around Betances that’s the way to go.
No way does Todd settle for a one-year deal. Just play Andujar.
Maybe is Jeezy gear sales spike when he is in pinstripes and make it worth his while?
I prefer Fulmer of the bunch. Corbin is under_rated, but not sure how well he does in the AL. Like Gettleman for NYG BIG PASS on Cole. Arm issues, and will not fare well in the AL.
I don’t agree with this at all
#Yankees are 2/6ths to ideal offseason with get Stanton, deal Headley. Rest: re-sign Frazier/CC, trade for young controllable SP such as Cole or Fulmer, get out of as much of Ellsbury $$ as possible. #keepscoreathome
This is definitely the period that concerns me because a prospect overpay seems much more likely, And I especially hate overpaying in prospects for pitchers because they’re so fragile.
It's usually worse at the deadline in terms of budging on prospects.
The Rays are listening on Archer.
Fulmer is coming off a procedure, I don’t want Cole, so if they are giving up big prospects...
Otherwise the latter two have to be discounted.
Olney says Yanks are talking to Baltimore about Machado.
I’m loving tonight’s Hot Stove.
What are they saying Rich?
It’s not the what. It’s just listening to their personnel people talking about their work.
Yanks touched base with todd Frazier. Doesn’t appear hot at the moment. Heyman
Surprised we didn't get a little more news today, but you know what I've always said about a quiet Cash.

Pineda to the Twins. Weirdest trade ever. I still think they could have gotten much more for Montero back then. Stay away from already injured young pitchers.
Starting to get the eebie geebies about tomorrow's Rule 5 draft. We're gonna get slaughtered again. Perhaps we can make some trades to at least get something back today.
Yanks may have interest in Nuney
So it's either he for training wheels for the infielders if we don't deal for Corbin and get the infielder, and trade for Cole or Fulmer instead.
I'd imagine we have several balls in the air.
Frazier is reportedly receiving a lot interest even at 2B. If true, I guess some team will give him two years. I don’t think it makes sense for the NYY.
Nothing more than a year makes sense for him.
Cash says they're not picking anyone in the Rule 5.
