Yanks Make Al Pedrique AA Skipper, Re-assign Tony Franklin
The Trenton Thunder have announced that Al Pedrique will be their new manager. Al was the Tampa manager this year, and this will allow for some continuity for those players graduating from high A. Players were developin under Pedrique last year in A, while they have been famously stalling out in AA under Franklin for the past few years. I don't know this, but I always got the feeling that Franklin wasn't into the new metrics, and by the time a player is at AA he should be done with the crusty, old school side of baseball, and develoing the skills it takes to be productive.
I suspect this move will work out well the the system.

K know thing about Pedrique, but if we are stuck with an incompetent GM, maybe the way out of this mess is to can the goofy ML manager.
They need someone committed playing kids, not gritty old players who remind the manager of himself.
I mean, if he played Roberts despite sucking hard, how can he reject Drew, who may actually bounce back?
I agree Girardi's a pretty lousy manager.
But, Pedrique moving into what was the level of disappointment for so many Yankee prospects over the years, can only be looked at with excitement. Guys were developing and getting promoted under him at Tampa last year.
I remember Pedrique as a Mets SS in the late '80s.
Franklin i heard is going to be Pulaski's first manager.

According to Kiley McDaniel, who seems pretty well locked in with international information this winter, the Yankees and Red Sox are “the heavy favorites” to sign Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada. If it happens, I wouldn’t expect Moncada to immediately step into the big league picture.
They CANNOT lose this one.
Yeah, looks like he'll be at Pulaski. But hopefullly AA won't be the dead end it was when he was there.
@kileymcd
Could Moncada be cleared to sign by the time ST starts?

could be cleared any day now, should be signed by opening day
