Rangers: Kevin Hayes?

Kevin Hayes, the 2011 Chicago first rounder is set to not sign with them and become a free agent today.   There were rumors that the Rangers were trying to trade for his rights, so it's possible they know something, or expect to be able to sign him again.  The talented forward would give the Rangers another good prospect.  He played at BC with Kreider.

Some other former picks and collegians are becoming FA's today, so if they miss on Hayes, they could sign someone else.   Their farm is a little thin because of all of the missing picks.
