NYDN on ARod
The Daily News has an article today stating that erstwhile Yankee Alex Rodriguez will be a focus of the Federal Investigation into Biogenesis, and related matters. A few things to talk about. First, the discussion almost treats MLB as if they are part of the Justice Department. They are not, and nothing they established or failed to should be accepted by the government investigators at face value. Second, they better name everyone or name no one. Third, the claims against ARod include allegations that close associates of his were threatening witnesses. If this stuff turns out to be true, I'm sure he will be indicted. And I wonder if then the Yankees will finally be able to get out from under his contract, or if MLB will just suspend him again.
Whichever way it turns out, I'd still be very surprised if he ever played for the Yankees again.

I also have doubts he ever plays. Also, at his age, and with not having played much in almost 2 full seasons, do you really think he can come back and be productive?
I wonder if he tries to settle with the Yankees before this gets to far with the Justice Dept.
I'm expecting Prado to be the everyday third baseman next season, with Beltran DHing. (He has no business playing the field except maybe once every blue moon.)
I think it could be Headley or even Lyerly or someone not yet on the RADAR with Prado being the Super UTE they seem to see him as.
The issue there is he's being paid too much to be a utility player, and he only has two years left on his contract after this one. Headley would want at least three years, and I'd rather keep things flexible in case one of Bichette or Jagielo show they're ready.
These things take time to resolve. Yet another overhang of uncertainty for a team with tons.
Uncertainty hanging over the Yankees? Why, what do you mean? :)
Aside from CC, Tanaka, Nova, Pineda, Warren, a lefty relief pitcher or 2, McCann, Tex, 2B, SS, 3B, and RF, what uncertainty is there? :)
