Yanks: Michael Pineda Will Start Wednesday

The Yanks had initially listed Esmil Rogers as their Wednesday starter, but that's been scrapped and it will be Pineda, who hasn't pitched since 4/23.   I guess that make Rogers the long man, and he has looked a bit better than some of the other options, like Huff.   Pineda is capable of giving the Yanks a big boost, and not just this year.

Props to them on Pineda. I wonder if Girardi was against it based on his public comments.

But the roster now contain Leroux, Huff, Hill, Rogers, and Capuano.

Maybe Rogers will finally find something at 29; I'm skepitcal.

But there is no way that collection of stuff should block Mitchell.

I think Leroux or Hill goes to AA or the DFA route when Pineda is officially added to the 25 man roster. Rogers and Whitney are the long men, and Huff is the lefty (UGH) "specialist (unless Hill stays, then he is).

I agree with Lawyer here - props to the Yankees for activating Pineda.

Mitchell should be starting instead of Capuano.

Mike K;

Can't argue that one. Even though Capuano has pitched well (until last night) as a Yankee, Mitchell is possibly the future, and should be given an opportunity.
