More on Lindgren
It is great that Jacob Lindgren is going through the minors like a hot knife through butter. That said, I wish the Yankees were using him for two innings instead of 1, which they've been doing most of the time. The Yanks need Jake to be their best relief ace since Howe or Lyle. He's a converted starter, so it should be relatively easy for him to stretch out which he may not even have to do to pitch two innings instead of one. Obviously, my impetus is to give the Yanks a guy, and really a few guys who can do what Dellin Betances has done this year, and what Mo did in `96 and shorten a game. It would also give more structure to the pen, and now allow Girardi to overmanage it or over supply it. We should have 5 starters, 1 long guy 4 two inning guys and a closer. That's 11 pitchers instead of 13 or 14. No more looogy's or inane match up crap. Goodness handedness and with Betances and Lindgren we have potential relief aces. Develop a few more an we're bulletproof.

I feel like Warren could be a true long man if stretched out.
I feel like Warren could be the "closer" if DRob leaves.
I think Betances is the closer-in-waiting.
Lindgren will probably be great, but his role, at least over the next season or two, could be up to Joey G.
It seems like he has free rein with the pen.
I will hate it if they make him a closer. It's stupid baseball.
You have to keep in mind he's already pitched a full college season this year. One inning for now is enough IMO.
He relieved this year though.
I am starting to think they are not going to burn a 40 man slot on Lindgren this year.
