Giants Look OK In PreSeason Bow

The Giants just beat the Bills 17-14 in the Hall of Fame Game.   Overall, they looked like you'd expect them to with so many changes and moving parts.  Except for one of his patented fumbles on a sack, Eli was good and hit like 6 of 7 of his passes, leading the Giants to their first TD.    By the way, both Jennings and Andre Williams, who scored, looked really promising.  We'll have to see what goes on with Wilson, but the #3 job is up in the air if he can't go, and Cox probably looked the best of the candidates tonight.

Didn't notice Cruz or Randle, but the big WR stars of the night were Corey Washington, who scored a  73 yard TD from Nassib that put the Giants up for good, and March Harris, who also made some catches.

Nassib looked good, except for one series where he had an int called back by penalty and about two plays later he grounded it.  But he did throw the 73 yard game winner, and looked great on the rollouts.

The OL was a mess all night.  Brown looked bad at LT.   Interesting both Walton and Richburg looked great at C, and Richburg also looked like one of our top 5 guys at guard.   They both started their nights with pancake blocks.   Hopefully Beatty will bounce back, because then we'll have 5 good ones.   The backups didn't distinguish themselves with Jerry and Sullen looking particularly awful.

Mario Manningham also had a 16 yard reception and that was great to see.

The defense looked pretty good and like it will be back to being a Giant type D when all the pieces are in there.   DaMonster looked great and had a sack with the 2's.  Nat Berhe forced a fumble with a brutal hit at one point.  Cooper Taylor made up for a terrible gaffe that lead to a bunt block by coming up with a tipped ball in the end zone.   Bowman also had an int in the end zone.

McManus hit a 47 yard field goal and had solid kickoffs.   I think he might win the job.

Doesn't seem like anyone was hurt, but we'll have to wait for the reports.  Isn't it great to have the Giants back?
