Yanks Get Chris Capuano for Cash

In their latest dumpster dive, the Yanks have picked up 35 year old, below average lefty, Chris Capuano from the Rockies for what is said to be cash.   I think there might be more in motion at this point, but here's hoping the Analytics guys found another gem.   The price seems right as long as there's no PTBNL.   It feels like they are returning to their "get any lefty we can for this ball park" past.   It's at least entertaining.

So can they find a 40 man spot for Refsnyder if they find one for Capuano?

Nobody wants Ryan Howard. It's not about a 40 spot for Refs now, it's for the 40 spot for him this November.

If you call up Rob it has to be a an outfielder. Howard as a platoon would interest me

Cash has been busy of late... Why do I suspect he has a few more moves in him??

Because he probably does. He wants another bat and another starter and now that they are tied for the second wold card, so they're not done.

Not sure why there's a need to have him and Francis. Same guy at this point. Francis is younger. Really don't need either. Does Capuano have loogy splits?

Padres want jagielo and clarkin for Kennedy?

That's a Bowden rumor. Last week he was talking about Severino, Judge and Clarkin for Lee.

Which means that they want any good prospect, which should be a no.

As for the 40 man and Refsnyder, they have so much deadweight on the roster it shouldn't be a problem in November.

And for argument's sake, let's say it is? Then there is even less reason to play in the OF.

That they are demonstrates that the 40 man is a non-issue even to them.

I think he'll be up after the deadline.

FWIW (not much probably), Francesa thinks Refsnyder will be brought up to play the OF this year because "it's easier."

I think so, too. And then he'll go to instructs of the AFL to keep working on second.

Girardi is a prick about young position players and holds separate standards from veterans.

If any rumor is from Mike Fran., I discount it immediately. Not worth the hot air that's expelled.

It does mirror what they are doing at AAA though.
