Yanks Win Again
Brandon McCarthy gave the Yanks another 6 strong, and they won yet another game in under 3 hours. Are we going back in time? Part of it has been a lack of walks both by the lineup and from the staff in some of these games. The O definitely doesn't grind like they used to, but they did fall behind 1-0 then catch up and pull ahead. They even tacked on a run when Texas made it 3-2, ultimately beating them 4-2. Had to use Warren, Thornton (one pitch pop up!), Betances and Robertson.
They really do have to make a decision on Robertson. He's a great pitcher, whom they should extend, but if they're not going to, they should trade him now while the prices for closers are big.

Although Texas stinks, wins are nice, but which team will is more likely to be really good again? I'm not sure that it isn't Texas.
So yes, Robertson should either be re-signed now or traded, but last year, they had to know that they were very, very unlikely to re-sign Cano since he apparently told his teammates he would go to whatever team offered him the most money, yet they chose to keep him in order to pretend. The did the same thing with Granderson and others.
I would be very surprised if they did anything different now, although they are probably more likely to re-sign Robertson at some point.
That's really not the point though. They are just not a smart organization from the owner on down.
Good show by the pitching staff, again. Seems like everyone is stepping up. Granted they played the Reds without Votto, and Texas without everyone (did anyone here recognize even 1/2 the lineup out there this series???). But a win is a win.
It will get more interesting this weekend. Big game coming up for Greene tomorrow.
Remember, the Yanks are playing everyone without4 of their top 5 starters.

btw, Tex might go on the DL tomorrow, so there could be a call up.
Tex has a lot of injuries too though, and let's be honest, CC seems to be a terrific guy, but he has been really bad for over a season.
Tex = Texas
The two obvious homes for DRob have now already acquired closers. Who else can pony up?
