Shumpert To The Point?

Glen Grunwald said today that they want to see Iman Shumpert play point guard in the Vegas Summer League games that start tomorrow, I think.   As I recall, he played some at college and the Knicks drafted him as one, before playing him everywhere else.   This is a really interesting time for Shump who has somehow not been traded.   In the playoffs, he looked like the sort of exciting young CORE player we encourage the Giants, Yanks, and Rangers to lock up and build around.

I also seem to remember Shump, who is a great athlete when healthy, to have gone off during the ball handling drills at the combine during his draft year.   So it should be interesting.   Hope we get to see some of it.   Go Knicks!

If he can handle the point he will instantly become the best 1 defender in the NBA

Agreed!!

It would be interesting to see his point-guard skills against the better defenders at the point.

He would shutdown other points. He's an instinctively great defender.

I meant how would Shump fair when he is attacking with the ball, against other point guards defending him.
