Yankee Draft `13: Tyler Wade Signs for Slot
So right after Eric Jagielo signed for slot, so did Tyler Wade. Now as much as that gives us two posts where no money can be saved, it's safe to say that the Yanks got Wade for a lot less than they would have paid under the old system. In fact, going back some years, they were frequently giving draft eligible shortstops around a million buck a pop to sign. I talking about guys like Carmen Angelini and Garrison Lassiter. Now, Angelini is finally healthy and finally making some noise with the bat, but boy oh boy, am I more comfortable with what the Yanks just gave Wade under the new system.
Btw, rumor yesterday was Palladino signed for more than slot, I don't know if that's so, but it would be the first pre round 11 case of it in this particular Yankee draft.
