Yanks Score 2 TD's and a FG

The Yanks scored 12 runs in the first, then just cruised to a 17-3 win over Baltimore in the nightcap. Nova got the win and was good after getting out of a first inning jam himself. He pitched 7 innings and only allowed 2 runs. Raphael Soriano, in his return to the Bronx, pitched a scoreless 9th. Swish hit another homer. If he and Cano are hot, we're gonna keep cruising.

Thus far, it looks like Ubaldo is going to Cleveland and our prospects are safe.

Good choice, especially if the Rockies denies Cashman's request to do a physical before any deal was finalized.

Doesn't everyone have to pass a physical for a deal to be finalized?

I thought this was standard procedure.

I tip my hat to Cashman for not giving away the farm. You know if big Stein was still alive, this would have been a done deal (if we had anyone left on the farm to deal at this time).

Really?

I can't believe they will finally call him up.

I guess Posada goes to the bench.

Anon,

You can request a physical before everything is finalized. In that case, a player wouldn't have to necessarily fail a physical, a team could back out simply because they saw something they didn't like.

In the other case, when a deal is finalized, a player would have to actually fail a physical for the deal to be off.
