Fox Redux?

It's looking like Giant DC Perry Fewell might be heading to Carolina to replace John Fox as the new Panther coach. If that happens, do not be the least bit surprised if John Fox returns to the Giants with a title like Assistant Head Coach - Defense, and becomes the heir to Tom Coughlin. Giant ownership is very fond of John Fox, and coincidentally, he is the best 4-3 defensive coordinator on the market. This could work out very nicely over the next few years for the Giants, if Fewell does leave and Fox comes in. For those who fret about LB play, Fox is a big believer in having some of your best players at LB. He does tend to like lighter, faster LB's than we have been drafting, but Boley is his type. We'll see what happens. The situation bears watching. Go Giants!

I would even prefer Fox to coach the offense over Gilbride.

:) Here's hoping Gilbride gets the UConn job.

Couglin really holds himself to a different standard, conveniently ignoring that they blew the Eagles game and got spanked by the Packers.

amen to that Phil PLEASE UCONN PLEASEE!!!! what do you make of Soriano saying he would set up for Mo

Soriano (or Boras) is smart enough to realize that leaving open the possibility that the Yankees could be involved tends to be a money maker for any player.

agreed Rich. This is a player I have championed the Yanks getting for quite some time.. I would have no problem with it, and he could be the closer of the future potentially

I want to sign both him and Pettitte.

Olney says Yankees are -not- interested in Soriano. Says they have felt "burned paying setup men in the past."

Nevermind that they just gave a LOOGY a contract that's way over market value. Nevermind that Soriano has an extended history of being a top-flight reliever when healthy.

Cashman's inability to construct a 25-man roster that doesn't have major, glaring holes when good options are right in front of him is what keeps him from being a truly great GM.

Interesting trade rumor on BBI, but i would rather it be Kershaw for Montero not Billingsley. As for Soriano, I think it's a situaton where the Yanks would take him at their number not his.. Yanks don't want to get burned by previous bullpen moves? Soriano has more talent then all of the stiffs they signed. I would hope the Yanks have not ruled him out, as I think it would be a big mistake.

BTW if Perry does go. PASS PASS PASS on Giunta. Hiring him further proves nothing will change with Coughlin ever.... Bring in Fox and be done with it...

If the Yankees trade Montero for anything less than King Felix, Hanley Ramirez, or maybe Josh Johnson, I will puke and become a Cashman hater.

Let's keep Yankee talk on Yankee threads. Thanks. If they are not going after Soriano, I'd assume ownership has said "no."
