Giants Tender Moss, Let Docker and Darcy Johnson Go

Today, the Giants mildly surprised their fan base by given perennially inactive underachiever Sinorice Moss a second round tender, and non-tendering both Dockery and Darcy Johnson. Moss has been a disaster since the Giants used two top 100 picks to get him in the 2006 draft. He can't get on the field over rookies in the offense, and has never developed enough special teams ability to contribute there. Some think they had to tender him in case another team wants him in a trade, but I don't know who they think would. Others pointed out that he could be insurance for the wr group in camp - but so could 50 other guys who haven't sucked for 4 years. Darcy Johnson couldn't be tendered because of some technicality and Dockery apparently just fell way out of favor. It's a little odd because he's been a much more valuable Giant on game days than Sinorice has been.

In any event, the Sinorice tender is somewhat reminiscent of the old Club Mead days of the `90s. It would have been nice to see a little more accountability.

Could they be thinking of trading another WR?

None that I can think of. They were gonna trade for Antrel Rolle, but I don't know where that is now.

Phil what do you think of possibly adding Sproles? I knwo SD wants to trade Cromartie. Jacobs perhaps???

If Rolle makes it to FA instead Phil do we pounce?

Phil you hve issue with any of the other tenders? FA is a week away, Jerry needs to get busy improving the D!

Sproles would get squashed in the NFC East.

And trading low on Jacobs seems like a bad idea to me. When we're going, he's a big part of the mismatch.

Only thing that worries me is Jake's durability. Our RB's seem to not stay healthy. As you say Sproles may get squashed, but he has speed, and talent. I really hope we add Rolle, but would not mind Sharper either for a shorter term if possible. Jerry really needs to hit the back 7 for both starter and depth purposes.

Isn't that the problem with moving Jacobs now, that his value is at a low point because of the durability issues?

Aaron Kampman? Any thoughts? Supposedly thats the combine rumor

Jerry came out and stated the Giants will spend where they have to and not hold back particularly on the Defensive side of the ball. Who would you like to see them add Phil?

I think we're going to see more trades than usual.

Looks like Rolle is going to be released, I hope we are in play and swoop in for him quickly.

What do you make of the Peppers rumors Phil?

Haven't heard anything about Peppers from the club side.

It came from Boomer and Carton. One would think Boomer has some insider sources.... On BBI it was mentioned about Sproles, whom as previously noted I would like a lot.
