Yanks Add 7 to 40 Man Roster

Today, the Yanks added CF Austin Jackson, SS Eduardo Nunez, 2B Reegie Corona. RHP Ivan Nova, INF Kevin Russo, RHP Romulo Sanchez, and RHP Hector Noesi to their 40 man roster, once again cutting Shelley Duncan. All of these players made progress this year, and each selection makes sense. Still the Yanks have left players like Colin Curtis, Kevin Whelan and Grant Duff exposed, and they are likely to get picked in the Rule V draft. It's likely some of the decision were made based on trade interest. In other words, the Yanks are protecting the ones in greater demand, and can look to throw in the others if a deal comes up before the Rule V. Btw, all three of the pitchers throw hard. So do Whelan and Duff. We'll see how it all works out. Go Yanks!
