Swish on the Block?
Bob Nightengale has reported that the Yanks have very quietly put Nick Swisher on the block. If this is true, than the plans are bigger than I think. Trading Swisher would create a hole in right field and in the line-up. Then we have to add his 29 bombs to the 52 we'd lose if Damon and Matsui don't come back. That's a lot of jacks. There's got to be a plan to replace them. Could they be considering Matt Holliday for right? This is getting interesting. Go Yanks!

is Nightengale reliable Phil? If so then there is a bigger plan in place...
we'll see.
Heyman said that Holliday's first choice is the Yankees, but as we know he is one of Boras's mouthpieces.
Holliday's dad is a HUGE Yankee fan.
Can Holliday play RF?
We need a guy with wheels in LF.
YS has a smallish right field, and a huge left field. So right might be a better fit. He doesn't have a great arm, but I think it's passable. His defensive metrics have been a lot better than Bay's.
Trading Swisher doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless they get a big return. Lots of value in a guy who gets on base and hits home runs in the bottom third of the lineup, while providing excellent D in right. Not to mention him being able to keep the clubhouse loose.

yeah, I don't really see us creating two holes around two average players in CF.
Not only that, but Holliday in right would be a colossal waste, given his defensive prowess and our huge left field.
