It's Girardi!

The Yanks have offered their vacant managerial job to Joe Girardi. He's flying to New York to accept and will be introduced later today or tomorrow. It was the right move and he's the right guy to tackle the issues that are already cropping up with ARod's opt-out. Girardi won't be outworked and will take full advantage of the metrics available to inform his decision. The key now will be putting together his coaching stafff. Pitching coach, bullpen coach and bench coach are all key openings. Don Mattingly will not be on the staff. Tony Pena will be if asked. Good work, Yanks!

I have wanted this move from day 1. I fully support it, now we need to see what his staff is, and how the personnel shakes out.

We'll have to wait and see. PC, BPC and Bench coach are big openings. I assume Bowa and Pena will stay.

I thought Bowa did not like Girardi, was that report inaccurate?

If you had to make a call Phil do you think A-Rod is here or gone when all is said and done.

I think he's gone as of right now, unless there's something I'm not understanding in the Yankee stance.

I Hope Andy does not follow Joe out there as the rumors are having it...
