ARod Has Opted Out?

According to Heyman over at SI, Arod has opted out without even negotiating with the Yanks. That seems unreal. Here comes the Wilson Betemit Era!

This is going to be a long offseason, and an even longer regular season.

Come on Relax...I Call it right now.Cabrera is the starting 3b next year

it just proves arod couldnt handle the pressure of NY

Who wants to pay the ransome for Cabrera?

aight fine...lowell then, they are not making betemit the 3b

girardi will be offered a 3 year 6 million dollar contract tomorrow to become yankees manager....per SI.com

Cabrera is going to cost a brinks truck of prospects. Unless Florida gives him away which I don't see why they would we have to find his replacement elsewhere.

Girardi is a given.

I wonder if he scared off ARod:)

Something stinks here. Do you think we hold firm on our stance Phil and A-Rod is gone?

At 7:42 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

We'll see. My friend who's a lawyer says this is probably not final.

At 7:43 PM, Blogger Michael said...

Is it possible this is a bully or scare tactic to up the rumored offer??

At 7:44 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

It either that or it's not. We'll have to wait and see.

At 7:56 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

my lawyer friend thinks ARod can rescind it in the ten day time frame.

If he does opt out, i trust what cashman says tha he wont go after him because personally i dont think cashman bullshits

We'll see what happens. I think Boras is trying to make ownership panic and get into the bidding.

"Alex's decision was one based on not knowing what his closer, his catcher and one of his statured pitchers was going to do," Boras said. "He really didn't want to make any decisions until he knew what they were going."

Quote From Borass

Who is Boras trying to fool???

At 8:15 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

This is clearly him thinking he is opening negotiations with the Yanks.

too bad negotiations with the yankees wont be open for business

I think he did not like the rumored number that was floated around. All of a sudden A-Rod decided like that he is opting out b/c of Mo/Po and manager uncertainty?? He knew this weeks ago. The timing is awfully coincidental with the number leaking out... I agree with you Phil this is a Boras ploy.

Phil if ARod does leave what do you think we should do?

At 8:59 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

grin and bear it and take the picks and the huge cash savings. Plus, if we know who tampered, we should charge them.

At 9:01 PM, Blogger Michael said...

I would think the list of teams that tampered would be the Cubs Dodgers Angels or dare I say Boston??

At 9:02 PM, Blogger Kalel9 said...

Cubs, Mets, Angels, Giants, Dodgers. I doubt the Red Sox would do that to us or us to them.

At 9:06 PM, Blogger Michael said...

If it ever came out the Mets were the ones that tampered, imagine what kind of hatred would ensue between the teams, ownership and fans. I'm still trying to figure out if he has officially opted out or not. If not then I still think he stays here with an 11th hr deal as suggested by Matt In SGS over at BBI.. Going to be a circus the next 10 days...

I think Boston keeps Lowell.

we'll see what happens. I'm not worried.

Going to be fun for sure the next lil bit. If he does leave it just proves what a phony he was.
