Rest in Peace, Scooter

It's a sad day in Yankeeland the Hall of Fame shortstop and longtime announcer of the Yankees is gone. One of the funniest and most delightful people who ever lived. One of the funniest things I ever saw him do during a Yankee game went like this:

Scooter: Hey, White, you know who we never say hi to?

White: No, who?

Scooter: All the guys in jail! So hello to all the guys in jail. Lotta Yankee fans in there!

Rizzuto was absolutely guileless, and I'm sure he had no interest in why the guys were in jail. He just thought they should be acknowledged. Funny guy, God Rest His Soul.
