Giants Stuff

This morning, the Giants informed S Landon Collins that they would not use the Franchise Tag to keep him, so he is free to become an unrestricted FA next week. Collins, an in the box S probably has less value in the 3-4 than he had in the 4-3, but he was a good Giant and, perhaps, if they would have cut bait on Eli's huge cap number, something could have been worked out. That said, they have created another need to handle in FA and/or the Draft. Tomorrow begins the legal tampering period that precedes Free Agency every year.  They have a lot to do, and thus far only about 26M and 10 picks with which to get it done.

It’s going to be hard to dissuade me from thinking that their roster construction isn’t at cross purposes. I believe that comes from ownership.

What a joke, an absolute shame. Regardless of "fit", we just let go of our best defensive player for nothing.

Now we keep Eli and his terrible cap hit. Gettleman is a clown and is not a good GM.

Not sure he was our best defensive player, but it never should have come to this and we are well past the time to unload Eli.

I think Raanan is a dope but I think he’s right here:

Dave Gettleman better be careful. This sent a dangerous message to the locker room. Landon Collins was a quality player, captain, did everything they asked and the Giants showed little desire to keep him.

Landon also called a teammate a cancer last offseason and chimed up about Flowers.
