The rest of the infield includes more teenagers: Andres Chaparro, Yeison Corredera, Eduardo Torrealba and Jesus Bastidas. Bastidas is a SS, Torrealba is also a SS, Corredera is a UT and at 23 is the old man on the team. Andres Chapparo is 18 and also a third baseman, but he or Dermis will end up playing first because they are the biggest guys on the team,
The catchers are Saul Torres, who is someone they really like and Victor Rey is 21 and used to be a 3B.
In the OF, the big name is Brayan Emery, another 19 year old from the 2014 IFA splurge. He's a rightfielder who could develop some power. Leobaldo Cabrera is Oswaldo's older brother, but playing one level behind. Frederick Cuevas is another kid from 2014, and a lefty hitter. Andy Diaz is now 21 and also hits lefty with some power.
As for the pitchers, the only lefty is Tyler Honahan, last year's 36th rounder. The rest are RHP's and they are: Mark Seyler, Rony Garcia, Juan Jimenez, Gilmael Troya, Kaleb Ort, Jose Pujols, Abel Duarte, Carlos Espinal, Alexander Vizcaino, Matthew Wivinis, Danial Ramos and Jio Orozco.
Seyler was the 19th rounder from 2015, so he may be coming back from injury. Ort is a fireballer they signed out of Indy Ball and either is 24 or turning 24 this year and is probably destined for the bullpen. Wivinis is another 24 year old out of Indy Ball. The rest are IFA's with Garcia, Troya and Duarte having the most buzzz.
There you have it, some 25 year old chaperones out of Indy Ball and a bunch of talented kids.

Also OT, the Cavs have nothing to trade for Butler or George, and their picks suck. For a declining player like Melo, they do.

He puts up Romine for Carter at the end of an 8-3 loss. There are not a lot of worse hitters than Carter, but Romine is one of them.
I've been out this evening -- did he really go with Clippard in a tie game? What else does he need to see to understand that's a bad move?
A good manager does not risks wins and losses based on which pitcher is assigned a given inning rather than using the pitcher most suited to the game situation.

All those long fly ball outs Clippard got in April are now going over the fence since the weather warmed up. He needs to be DFA'ed or banished to mop up duties.
The pen in general needs to be revamped. Expand Green, Shreve and German's roles. DFA Clippard. Acquire/promote some guys who might actually help.
German should be getting starts instead of Cessa.
At least Carter isn't playing tonight.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said that manager Joe Girardi has asked if there are other options at first base besides Chris Carter, but Cashman said Girardi is "in line" with sticking with Carter for now.
Cashman said Girardi asked about replacing Carter at 1B. "I think he’d like to come up with a better option if we had one, and we don’t."

I don't know. Cashman as long defended him even when he hasn't had to, but for the first time in a long time Cashman can honestly think that he is doing a good job and maybe he thinks the manager isn't maximizing what he is giving him.
