Deer lowered what a horrible send. Young had the ball before Judge even touched third. What was the third base coach thinking?

I ran into a couple of guys who played with him in HS, and they never thought he'd do all this.
Crappy game and crappy series. Move on to Oakland and sweep the A's.
At some point, someone in the analytics department is going to have to convince Cashman to have a sit-down with Girardi and discuss bullpen strategy; specifically, sitting your best relievers in the most important situations. Betances has pitched three times since late May, two of which were "garbage time" games where they had to give him work because he hadn't pitched in several days. Bringing a rookie into a tie game for his major-league debut is questionable, at best. As someone on Twitter said, he doesn't manage a bullpen, he manages innings quotas. That's better than Torre, who burned through set-up men like they were going out of style, but it's still problematic.
Also, sending Judge on that play may be one of the worst decisions you'll ever see a third base coach make.
He is hurting the team.
Imagine if Judge could barrel over the catcher? No one would stand in his way. Maybe that's the only rational reason he was sent because that was a TERRIBLE call.
Herrera looked pretty good, still don't know how Simmons hit a HR swinging like that. Chapman return cannot come soon enough. Rumbelow should be back from TJS as well, hopefully Clippard is buried.
I don't mind some of these dumb losses while the kids are getting established, but when it's because of the managers or the coaches it makes me mad. Last night was a coaching loss. Btw, in our last two series, ex-Yankee farmhands gave us the most trouble.
Billy, the ESPN crew actually brought that point up, saying Judge barrels over the Angels' catcher if the old rules were still in place. They also mentioned that the catcher isn't supposed to block Judge's path to the plate, though they can move into position to receive the throw. It's still a rule that favors the defender too much IMO.
Pineda's home/road splits are concerning, to say the least.
I want to trade Pineda.
I would trade Didi too. When you don't walk and hit .330 it's not a big deal, but I don't think that susstainable. He doesn't have great bat speed or plate coverage. So I think trading him now would be trading high, very high.
Didi's fine as long as he isn't too expensive. I am wary of the team giving him a long-term deal by the time he reaches his free agent year, because he'll be on the wrong side of 30 by then. Fortunately, given how they're practically begging Torres to make himself ready to take Headley's spot, and given how they shipped McCann away so Sanchez could play every day, the team is at least showing it's willing to move guys when better options present themselves.
Yeah that's the point though: he's cheap and playing well now so his trade value might never be higher. I'm of the view that what he's doing is not sustainable for the reasons I mentioned.

My blood has boiled when they bring up a Nick Johnson comparison. I don't want to hear about stuff.
As far as Pineda and Didi, Cashman has been very very very protective of his young trade acquisitions. But now that elite players Sanchez and Judge have finally been developed under him , with a high likelihood of more to follow, maybe he'll be less so.
I'd hate to draw those comparisons because it isn't fair. At the same time, I'm wonder if perhaps Clint Frazier should start picking up first base as insurance?
What about Austin?
They apparently aren't high on him for some reason. If they were, he'd have been brought up by now.
Carter is awful. Yes, he will hit a HR now and then, but absent nothing's else. He is an example of the big hairy monster model that failed.
How can they not think that Austin might not be better? Refs is bettter too.
I think G doesn't like him. G gives up on kids very easily.
