Yanks Take Lefty Trevor Lane

In the 10th and final round of day two, the Yanks took LHP Trevor Lane, another senior from University of Illinois at Chicago.  Far as I can tell he's 5'11' and slight rather than stocky.  He played offense sometimes when he wasn't pitching and that kind of AA is a good sign for most pitchers, especially lefties.  And he has a pretty funky stat line this year.  He was 8 and 5, though he's only listed as starting one game.  What's more, he had 5 saves.  He also had a 1.41 era over 70 innings of 90K 35BB ball. Gave up just 41 hits though.   Walks are high, but everything else is intriguing and I'll try to find out more about him.  High K's and low hits are nice.

OT, but Ref's AB are not that good right now. It appears he's pressing.

Not sure why he's pressing, Girardi said 1b is his for the foreseeable future ... hate to say this but maybe he's not as good as you all want him to be?

Not sure if a already mentioned but the rumored Cubs/Yankees deal....

Chapman for Baez, Warren and a prospect. Unless that prospect is Almora then it's a bad deal IMO

The Yankees can get more than that, bring Washington into trade discussions. Washington is a threat to the Cubs this year, Cubs will do just about anything to break the jinx!

It's too early to get maximum trade value.

As for Refs give him as much time as Didi got last year and see where he is at. If he's not good enough after that, fine. But he needs that much time
