Giants Fail To Lose

Well, the Giants finally won one, even though, they once again took extraordinary steps to lose it.  The game started out great with a safety off a punt block, but the Giants couldn't get anything going on the ensuing possession.  They once again settled for too many field goals, especially when they could have ended the game in the first -- but terrible drops and awful penalties continued to stall drives in this game, too.   And there's got to be someone better than Donnell out there.  He had his share of drops, bad blocks and dangerous plays again tonight.

Fortunately, Eli was sharp and Odell and Ruben Randle both caught TD passes, and Andre Williams ran one in.  Andre also had a run where he Brandon Jacobsed a guy, that thrilled everyone but didn't lead to anymore fireworks.    The fourth quarter saw Washington go from having 6 points to 21 and that was ridiculous. Also, Ruben Randle boxed up both of their onside kick attemps before the Giants could corral them.

But it is huge to win on the short week and get the extra rest and time to get back guys like Cruz, Flowers and Owa.    So. the season's not over yet.

Eli is such a talented quarterback, it's a travesty that they failed to surround him with talent over the last 3+ years.

I don't like Donnell, or Newhouse, or Jennings.

I do like Williams, and I think Hoskey is getting better.

Brown is good at FG, but he can't kick the ball out of the end zone on KOs.

Holsey quietly played a very good game.

I see people around the net (and Coughlin) think Newhouse was good.

Prince is becoming a star. With Eli's extension and JPP having no chance of getting big money, they will have the cap space for him.

Without commenting on the merits, it's kind of funny listening to Kay trying to send the message to Beckhman to not do the first down pointing after a reception.
