Yanks Call Up Bryan Mitchell and Brandon Pinder

The Yanks optioned Martin and put Santos on the 15-day, then called up Mitchell and Pinder.  Let's hope Mitchell isn't getting a look as the right hander they've been looking at for long relief.  He's been doing well in the Scranton rotation.   However; his hundred mile fastball and other stuff might be seen as just what Girardi is looking for for the pen.   Let's hope that Pinder shows in that role first and they save Mitchell to back up Eovaldi and either take a place in the rotation or stay a starter in Scranton.  We really don't need to go through this yet again.

Doing well in NY should mean staying in NY.

As a starter, of course. CC is an exercise in diminishing returns.

Based on past history Mitchell is probably being showcased for a trade.

Hope not

Stop pulling Mason Williams for Chris Young, for crying out loud.

Williams should be playing everyday while Ellsbury recovers

Warren is a stahtin pitcha.

Can't really afford to take Warren out right now no matter how badly they need a strong righty reliever. And to Girardi's credit, he is at least starting Williams most days — I just wish he would stop with the pinch-hitting, it's really annoying.

Gardner is a streaky player, but when he's locked in, he's excellent.
