Knicks Stuff

The Knicks today signed 2-guard Ricky Ledo to a 10 day contract.   This will obviously serve as an audition for the kid who is talented but got released from the Mavs when they picked up Stat.   As bad as the Knick trades have been - and literally nothing has been gained beside some cap room - and since the Knicks rarely have draft picks - they'll have to keep shopping among the discarded an buying second rounders then spending them on lottery tickets like they did last year with Thannasis and the French Run and Jump 4.  As I've advanced in the past, they need to find players who fit the triangle and can play it with passion - rather than just names they hope can play with Melo.

The Prigioni trade may turn out to be his best to date.

Could be.

This summer will be critical in obtaining some major talent. With cap expected to spike over $20+ mil in a year, utilizing the cap space now before everyone is flush will be critical.

A player receiving the max this year will be looking at 30% less than what they'll receive when the new cap comes into effect.

I'll hold off judgement on Phil until we see what happens this summer.

We need lots of players. It would have been great to pick up more picks for this year.

Who is the obvious big FA choice? I don't think there is one.

The draft is more important.

I don't like this FA class.

I would like to grab Kris Middleton / Jimmy Butler / Wes Matthews (even with the injury) / Tobias Harris

With the pick, BPA. Depending on where it falls, I would offer it to Sacramento for Boogie Cousins.

Harris scares me as he is young and very injury prone. Middleton intrigues me. The Boogie comment is not so far fetched, especially depending on where it falls. I know everyone is hoping Durant in 16. Some speculate that OKC will trade him or RW prior to... I would suspect they would keep RW.

I know Monroe gets criticized for his D, but he would be the perfect player for the triangle.

Rumors are Schved wants to back to Russia next year..

That's probably a salary ploy.

Yeah, that's why it's about the draft.

Schved says he wants to stay, and like everyone else, it's usually about the money and PT.

And the reason I want to keep the pick is cost control for more free agents in 2016.

I was just throwing Boogie out there but I would trade any pick we get for him -- He's an absolute monster and would look great next to Melo.

Melo's age is also a variable that must be taken into account when determining who to target.

Russell's looking like he could be one and done.

I like Russell but feel like he's a tweener.

I love Russell and think he'd be fantastic in the Triangle.

Russell's bringing them back!

I'd draft Towns.

Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti says Kevin Durant is not making progress with his surgically repaired foot, which is the reason that he will be stopped - @SpearsNBAYahoo

Do NOT trade for Durant no matter what.

Chronic oot issues with big basketball players rarely turn out well.

or foot

Bill Walton's feet ruined his career...

I wouldn't trade for Durant either but Waltons injury had a lot to do with Portlands medical staff screw up.
