Mara, Coughlin and Reese Speak, Say Nothing

Well, John Mara, Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese met with the press today, and literally said nothing.   Mara did not say, "The defense is broken," though it is.  Coughlin mostly praised the special teams and did not mention the blocked kicks.  Jerry mentioned that finishing games is learned but did not reflect on the presumptive teachers.

It's clear that they have not really met about the coaching staff or personnel staff yet.   It was also made clear that TC would make all final decisions on his coaching staff.  Hard to call what's going on there.

Meanwhile Danny Langsdorf is leaving to become Mike Riley's OC at Nebraska, so they will need a new QB coach, for starters.

But seriously, nothing much was said.

Agreed Phil big wast of time. TC is really clueless praising the Defense, and Specials. I have a bridge to sell you if Mara is leaving it all up to TC. Most telling things to me where the fact he may not give TC and extension, and win or else line. We still have holes to fill, I hope JR doesn't overvaluate his roster..

If Perry and Quinn are not replaced then Tommy C is digging his own grave. With that being said i truly believe both will be fired

I think it's possible that they are gone. He didn't say the whole staff will be back...

They aren't changing Fewell, so maybe they'll change Coughlin's tailor.

Apparently they dont want to win if they keep Fewell and Quinn, let alone TC. Mara very uninspiring..

It's not clear that they are keeping Fewell.

Well maybe they put on a brave face so Tom could keep face but the idea that he, who is so bad at picking coordinators, gets to decide who the coaches are, at this point it's crazy

He doesn't sit alone in his office and make those decisions. And if they don't like it, they will take it out of his hands, as they probably would have done with Gilbride Sr. last year.

FWIW (usually nothing), Dotino thinks Fewell is 50/50.

Although I give him way more credit, I think Coughlin has become like Torre in that reality and facts don't match up anymore.

It looks like Rex Ryan has options.

He probably does.
