Giants Looking at CFL OL Brett Jones

Brett Jones of the Stampeders has a workout scheduled with the Giants.  This is interesting because he was both CFL OL of the year and rookie of the year.  What's more, because he played collegiately in Canada as well, he might have been underscouted.

The Giants assembled their last great line by signing UDFA Rich Seubert,  drafting Dave Diehlin the 5th, signing former UDFA turned UFA Shaun O'Hara, spending big on Kareem McKenzie and drafting Chris Snee with the 4th pick in the 2nd round of the 2004 draft.  Anyway, Snee and Kareem cost a lot, but the other three were bargains.   Now we have money in Beatty and Shwartz and high picks in Pugh and Richburg.  The line is still no match for the old one, but it also hasn't had any luck.

Jones looks good on tape and might be part of the solution.  They do need at least one more starting OL, and that's only if Schwartz can get healthy.  Maybe Jones can be the guy.

Worked out for the Bucs and didn't sign. Other teams are interested but the Giants are the only scheduled workout left.

I guess they say its hard to evaluate linemen from the CFL to the NFL because in Canada they line up a yard from each other.
